Which materials can be used for making ultrasonic molds?
Die steel, aluminum alloy, and titanium alloy are the materials commonly used to make ultrasonic molds. Ultrasonic molds made of different materials are suitable for different occasions and have different characteristics.
1. Steel mold:
Advantages: high hardness, high wear resistance, the longest mold use time, and high stability. The disadvantage is that the ultrasonic transmission rate is relatively low and the acoustic impedance is large. In order to ensure the ultrasonic transmission effect, it is not suitable for large-scale molds. For round molds, the unit diameter generally cannot exceed 11.5cm.
Steel molds are more suitable for various rolling, punching, slitting, shearing and other application equipment. For example, mask body machines, ultrasonic cloth slitting machines, ultrasonic punching machines and many other equipment use steel molds.
2. Aluminum alloy ultrasonic mould:
Advantages: light weight, low density; high ultrasonic transmission rate, suitable for large-scale molds; low hardness, more complex patterns can be carved on the mold, and the processing cost is relatively low. The disadvantage is that the wear resistance is not high, and it is easy to wear.
Therefore, aluminum alloy ultrasonic molds are suitable for discontinuous high-strength friction operations such as sewing and welding, high ultrasonic wave strength, and mold surfaces that need to be engraved. It is suitable for aluminum alloy ultrasonic molds.
3. Titanium alloy ultrasonic mould:
Advantages: high hardness, good wear resistance, fast heat dissipation, lighter weight, low density, when the same power ultrasonic wave is emitted, the ultrasonic transmission rate of the same volume mold is higher than that of the steel mold. It can be said that the titanium mold integrates many advantages of the steel mold and the aluminum mold.
Disadvantages: The cost is relatively high, and the price of titanium molds is much higher than that of aluminum molds and steel molds of the same specifications (now, the price of titanium-based molds is more than 500 yuan/kg).
Therefore, the titanium alloy ultrasonic mold is suitable for higher ultrasonic transmission rate, larger working surface, and suitable for working occasions that require better wear resistance.
This is the end of the introduction about the materials for making ultrasonic molds, hope it will be helpful to you.
