What are the common welding methods of ultrasonic plastic welding machines?
1. Spot welding
The vibration system of ultrasonic plastic welding machine can be divided into longitudinal vibration (light structure) system, bending vibration (heavy structure) system and light bending vibration system between the two according to the vibration status of the upper sonotrode. Light structure is used for small spot welders with power less than 500W. The heavy-duty structure is suitable for kilowatt-level high-power ultrasonic welding machines. The light bending vibration system is suitable for small and medium power welding machines, and it has many advantages of the vibration system.
2. Girth welding
The circular welding method can be used to form a closed weld at one time, and a torsional vibration system is used. The pad is twisted during soldering, and the vibration amplitude is symmetrical and linearly distributed with respect to the sonotrode axis, the amplitude of the axis area is zero, and the amplitude of the edge of the pad is large. Obviously, ring welding is suitable for the packaging process of microelectronic devices.
Sometimes girth welding is also used for linear welds that require particularly high airtightness. At this time, partial overlap girth welding can be used, which is the same as seam welding to obtain continuous linear welds. Due to the large area of the ring welding, a large power input is required, so the multi-transducer drive mode is often used.
3. Seam welding
The vibration system of the ultrasonic plastic welding machine can be divided into several categories according to the vibration state of its pad; longitudinal vibration system; bending vibration system; torsional vibration system. Two are more commonly used. The vibration direction of the pad is perpendicular to the welding direction. The vibration direction of c) is parallel to the welding direction. ; Seam welding can obtain a sealed continuous weld. Usually the workpiece is clamped between the upper and lower pads. In special cases, the flat bottom acoustic pole can be used.
4. Wire welding
Wire welding can be seen as an extension of the spot welding method. Now it is possible to obtain a 150mm long linear weld through the linear upper sonotrode last time. This method is suitable for linear sealing of foils.
